Second Collaboratory Showcase
Our second annual research showcase took place at Cleaver and Wake, Nottingham, bringing together our postgraduate researchers (PGRs), community-focused organizations, and representatives from various civic and community organizations across Nottingham on July 2, 2025. The event aimed to engage and share insights and objectives from our current PhD and Research Placement projects in an inspiring exchange of ideas and experiences.

The event kicked off with the first session, dubbed “Research Footprints.” This was a creative, community-building workshop designed by two of Nottingham Trent University’s PGRs, Tamsin and Victoria. The interactive session encouraged attendees to consider what brought them to their research and what drives their research journeys. It used creative practices to help attendees explore how their backgrounds, ideologies, and passions have shaped them as researchers, fostering a shared understanding of their personal identities as researchers and their collective identity as a community.

It was fantastic to see such a wide variety of civic and community professionals from across the East Midlands attending to engage with our candidates. The event’s second session kicked off with a delightful treat for our invited guests: refreshments and a fantastic networking opportunity! This was a chance to mingle with our PhD and Research Placement candidates, who had designed a range of creative, thought-provoking posters showcasing projects directly addressing priorities in Nottinghamshire communities.
